Steve Gray became Curry's President and sole shareholder in 1985. He had moved to New Hampshire from Wilton, Connecticut looking for an improved "quality of life". With fifteen years of corporate life under his belt, he came to the real estate business with a diversified background.
The bulk of career had been with PHH-Homequity (now a Realogy Division known as Cartus), the nation's largest transferee assistance company, where he served in several key managerial positions spanning operations, customer service and sales and marketing. Steve also worked within the securities industry with Shearson American Express, the direct marketing industry with Dun & Bradstreet and the computer, telecommunications and alternative energy industries with small start-up companies.
Having earned his Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Denver, Steve continued his formal education in the evenings, earning a Master's Degree in Communications from Fairfield University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
In 1988, he was awarded the Graduate Realtor Institute's (GRI) designation for completing the full series of real estate courses offered by the New Hampshire Association of Realtors. Subsequently, in 1994, Steve was awarded the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) designation, the highest award real estate brokerage managers can receive.
In addition to running the firm, Steve personally manages over 40 rental properties for absentee owners and is active in listing/selling both residential and commercial properties.

In 1994, he personally achieved a record level of sales ($6.5 million) and was recognized as the top selling Realtor within the entire Lakes Region Board or Realtors. In 1995, he exceeded his previous years record selling in excess of $6.7 million worth of Real Estate.
In 2001, Steve oversaw the construction of a much larger new office building to house Curry Realtors. The new facility enabled him to comfortably expand the number of agents and support personnel that would be required for Curry Realtors to remain a major force within the Lakes Region marketplace.
As of January 1, 2007, Steve has successfully overseen the sale of over $400,000,000 worth of property.
In May of 2007, he traveled to Texas to take part in an intensive 15 hour seminar conducted by The Institute of Luxury Home Marketing. He earned the prestigious international designation in recognition of his experience, knowledge and expertise in the Luxury Home Market. In addition to becoming a member of the Institute, he was made a member of the exclusive "Million Dollar Guild".
In late 2007, Steve is planning to launch a new venture. The company will be known as Buy Smart New Hampshire and will focus on the luxury home market in the Lakes Region and the Seacoast areas. He likes to refer to it as a unique "finely-tuned" high-end search and assistance program. Stay tuned!
Steve resides in Portsmouth with his wife Alexis, their daughter Amanda and his commuting Golden Retriever, Lilly.
